Why Choose Us

What to Wear

Comfortable, fitted clothes that allow free movement. Dance shoes with smooth soles or leather-soled shoes work best. Ladies can wear heels (2-3 inches recommended) but flats are fine. Avoid rubber-soled trainers that stick to the floor.

First-Timer Friendly

Never danced salsa before? That's exactly where everyone starts! Our beginner classes teach you from the ground up - no partner or experience needed. We rotate partners so you'll make friends while learning.

Our Studio in Glasgow

Located in the heart of Glasgow city centre, our professional dance studios feature sprung floors perfect for partner dancing, mirrors for technique checking, and authentic Latin music that gets your feet moving.

Frequently Asked Questions

Wear comfortable clothes that allow free movement - fitted tops and trousers or skirts work well. For footwear, choose dance shoes or shoes with smooth soles. Ladies often wear heels (2-3 inches) for better spinning, but flats are fine for beginners. Avoid trainers with rubber soles.

No partner needed! Most students come alone. We rotate partners throughout the class, which helps you become a versatile dancer and learn to dance with different people - essential for social salsa dancing.

You'll learn basic salsa steps and simple turn patterns in your first class. After 4-6 weeks of regular classes, most students feel confident enough to dance socially. Mastering complex patterns and styling takes longer, but the learning journey is part of the fun!

Cuban Salsa (Casino) is danced in a circular motion with more Afro-Cuban influence and rueda (group dancing). LA Style (On1) is danced in a line with more shines (solo footwork) and dramatic styling. We teach both styles, starting with fundamentals that apply to both.

Absolutely! Our beginner salsa classes are designed for people with no dance experience. We start with the basic step, counting, and simple partner work. Everyone was a beginner once - you'll be surprised how quickly you progress!

We recommend attending once a week minimum for steady progress. Many dedicated students come 2-3 times weekly. Attending salsa socials and practice sessions between classes will accelerate your learning significantly.
